James Simpson today announced the formation of Cellbloc Studios, a new video game development company, based in Atlanta, GA. Simpson, better known as “Doctor Unity” for his extensive Unity3D experience, has assembled a team of digital artists, animators, modelers, and programmers to bring new video games to life.
Simpson has over 25 years of programming experience that includes projects for Cartoon Network, Turner, NASA, MySpace, FOX, Wildtangent, Thrust Interactive, Designing Digitally, AutoTrader, Eyes Wide Games, Webbifi, Logical Choice, and Holistic Design, Inc. and faculty positions at the Art Institute of Atlanta and American Intercontinental University teaching game art and design.
“Cellbloc Studios will reimagine the ‘old school’ RPGs my team and I spent many hours playing as we grew up,” said James Simpson, CEO and founder of Cellbloc Studios. “We’ll bring the ‘old school’ RPG into the present with multiplayer features and customization capabilities with digital collectible cards, all on a free-to-play platform.”
